"Why are you attending university?" should seem like a simple question, but not at all. I would like to answer with a question, "Why does anyone attend university?" It should be clear to anyone. Right? Well, for me it was not clear until tonight. I always wanted attending university to be like the corny ass experiences in movies and be the student who only has to struggle with my parent wanting me to be a doctor, but I want be a guitarist or an artist! In reality…. I am attending university for my family...for my people. I do what I do in hopes that I am helping pave a path with many other Lakota people for a brighter future for our younger generations. I do what I do in hopes that what I am doing and will do will inspire people. Many people at one time in their lives had dreams of changing the world. That is still my dream, but majorities (sic)  of things are out of my control. My actions are not. I can do the best in what I can and I can be the best person that I can. I can be a simple truth. By doing these things.... I am changing my world. I am a Native American who will not fall under the statistics. This why I do what I do. So, many others will know not to let statistics stop them from being who and what they want to be.
